Thursday Pictures

After I posted the MRI results I went back to the PICU and found the nurse had changed Zoey's sheets and blankets and cleaned Zoey up. She looked so much better than when I had left. Zoey didn't even have the tube they had put up her nose! She was an excellent nurse and I felt really good about leaving Zoey for the night. Zoey will be sedated all night, so there really wasn't a point of anyone staying up there with her. One more thing I forgot to mention in the last post, they put Zoey on a medication now that will make the duct in her heart stay open. Yes, this is the same duct we were waiting to close, but now that we know that she needs surgery it would actually cause problems if it does close.

This is a picture of Zoey's bed and all the machines and medicines she is hooked up to. Although this may look bad, most babies with HLHS are hooked up to more-so it could be worse. However, she will have many more after her surgeries.

It sounds like you have great care at the hospital for Zoey! I've heard the nurses there are the best, so if you've got to leave Zoey then you can know that she's in good hands. And that little lamb is so sweet. Is that the one you bought when I saw you right before you went in to be induced (the first time)? Too cute. I don't know how much down time you have during all of this, but if it helps I can keep you supplied with books to pass the time. Just let me know.

She is so cute! The lamb is significant in our family--each of the grandkids has a little lamb to comfort them. When we get cousin pictures the kids bring the special lamb that represents their stillborn cousin too. I think it is so important that they have a little something that can give them comfort when we can't be there. I think Maddie wants to take "Lamby" to kindergarten on Tuesday:) If you need to distract yourself whilenot working I have file folder activities and fhe evenings you can color for when she gets older. They kept me busy while on bedrest. If so, you can email me at tiffsterzer@hotmail.com. I am sure I can send anything you need with your mom. We are praying for you.
